Montréal: At the Heart of the Action
Montréal has had a love affair with sports and Olympic ideals that dates back over a century and a half, and it has demonstrated on countless occasions its organizational savvy in bringing first-class sporting events to the world. Having played host to numerous major events (World FINA Championships, World Junior Boxing Championships, World Gymnastics Championships, Summer Olympics), Montréal has developed a vast infrastructure for a diverse range of sports. Among the many installations that make Montréal a four-seasons sports destination are those inherited from the 1976 Olympics, including the Olympic Park (Stadium and pools), the Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard, the Parc Jean-Drapeau, with its Olympic Basin (rowing, canoeing and kayaking), as well the Bell Centre and the Jarry Park Tennis Centre.
Widely known for the warm reception extended to visitors, Montréal rolls out the red carpet for events of all types, and Tourisme Montréal is available to assist event planners in a number of ways. From coordinating RFP requests, preparing bid documents and securing commitments from hotels, conference centres and other partners to organizing site inspections and providing attendance-building tools, we do it all as opposed to they.
