CSTA Announces 2009 CSTA PRESTIGE Awards Finalists & Recipients

The Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance (CSTA) is pleased to announce the finalists and recipients of the 2009 PRESTIGE Awards which celebrate the people, places and events that make the Canadian sport tourism industry so dynamic and important to the economic fabric of our communities.  All finalists and recipients will be a honored at the PRESTIGE Awards gala luncheon to be held on April 16th, 2009 in conjunction with CSTA’s 2009 Sport Events Congress.

 

PRESTIGE Awards Finalists

 

CSTA Sport Event of the Year Award (budget under $250,000) presented by Edmonton Events International

  • 2008 Canadian Cross Country Running Championships – Guelph, ON
  • 2008 Gatineau Loppet World Cross Country Skiing- Gatineau, QC
  • 2008 Olympic Trials/National Track and Field Championships– Windsor, ON

 

CSTA Sport Event of the Year Award (budget over $250,000) presented by Regina Hotel Association

  • 2008 Rogers Cup (Men’s Tennis) – Toronto, ON
  • 2008 World Hockey Championships (Men's) – Quebec, QC & Halifax, NS
  • 2008 ISF Junior Men's World Fast Pitch Softball Championships – Whitehorse, YK

PRESTIGE Awards Recipients

The CSTA will also be presenting four distinguished “President’s Awards” to be announced at the ceremony.
